Amalgam removalMany clients are now choosing to have their
black amalgam fillings removed due to health and aesthetic reasons. Many people still have amalgam fillings, which contain
mercury and not aesthetic.
You can remove your black amalgam filling and replace it with
white composite filling which match to your teeth colour.
We ensure
your safety during amalgam removal. Amalgam fillings contain mercury and we follow a
special protocol to protect you, our staff and the environment:
- We isolate the amalgam filled teeth with rubber dam in your mouth; dry the place of the amalgam.
- We use special strong vacuum sucker to take the amalgam and the vapour off from your mouth.
- We keep the filling cool by cold water spray to minimise amalgam vapour.
- You and the dentist wear goggles (special glasses) during the amalgam removal.
- We collect the amalgam is a special container built into our system and we specially dispose it to protect the environment.
Under your old amalgam filling new cavity (decay) might have developed causing the cavity too large for a filling. In this case you can get an
inlay or onlay. If a cavity becomes very large you can get
crown to replace your tooth.
